Advantages of electronic filing

At Juda, Eskew & Associates, P.A. we work with many clients and thousands of pages of various documents pass through our office every week. If we kept a physical copy of each document that we process, we would need another office just for storage; however, we do not need to do that because we scan all documents and file them electronically.

Here are some benefits of storing documents electronically.

1. Digital storage saves space.
Before sending the original documents back to our clients, we scan them and file them electronically so we do not need a room dedicated just for storing documents.

2. Files can be found quickly and easily.
Sifting through filing cabinets just to find that one specific page can take up a lot of time. With electronic storage, a file can be found with just a few clicks.

3. Multiple people have access to the same file.
Since all files are stored on a network that all office computers have access to, everyone is able to access a file.

4. Files stored digitally are less likely to get lost.
Digital data can be backed up on multiple devices so even if one of our hard drives fails, the files will not be lost.

5. Electronic storage saves paper, and as a result – trees.
About 8,000 sheets of paper can be produced from one tree. If we made copies of every document that we process, we would be contributing to cutting down several trees every year.

These are just a few advantages of electronic filing and why we choose to store our files digitally.
